Data is often intangible; our lives are dominated by it, yet we cannot see it. Nature Hallucinations deals with data as an entity, interrogating the hierarchies and systems of control it can construct. Using the botanical illustration as a data source, Critchlow draws parallels to the historic archive and the science of categorisation surrounding it, exploring machine learning in relation to the information that fuels it.
